Klaus Fußmann is a contemporary German painter. He studied from 1957 to 1961 at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and from 1962 to 1966 at the Berlin University of the Arts. From 1974 to 2005, he was a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts. His work has won several awards, such as the Villa Romana prize in 1972 and the Art Award of Darmstadt in 1979. Major presentations of his work include exhibitions at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, 1972; the Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt, 1982; the Kunsthalle Emden, 1988; the Kunsthalle Bremen, 1992; and the Museum Ostwall in Dortmund, 2003. In 2005 Fußmann completed a monumental ceiling painting in the Mirror Hall of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.

David Teniers the Younger was a Flemish Baroque painter, printmaker, draughtsman, miniaturist painter, staffage painter, copyist and art curator. He was an extremely versatile artist known for his prolific output. He was an innovator in a wide range of genres such as history painting, genre painting, landscape painting, portrait and still life. He is now best remembered as the leading Flemish genre painter of his day. Teniers is particularly known for developing the peasant genre, the tavern scene, pictures of collections and scenes with alchemists and physicians.
He was court painter and the curator of the collection of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm, the art-loving Governor General of the Habsburg Netherlands. He created a printed catalogue of the collections of the Archduke. He was the founder of the Antwerp Academy, where young artists were trained to draw and sculpt in the hope of reviving Flemish art after its decline following the death of the leading Flemish artists Rubens and Anthony van Dyck in the early 1640s. He influenced the next generation of Northern genre painters as well as French Rococo painters such as Antoine Watteau.
Gotthardt Kuehl was a German painter of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He is known as an impressionist painter and teacher.
Gotthardt Kuehl studied painting at the Dresden and Munich Art Academies, as well as in Paris, where he lived for two years, and on study trips to Italy and the Netherlands. He created cityscapes, architectural sketches and paintings with social themes, gaining recognition in the early stages of his work.
Kuehl participated in the founding of several artists' associations, including the Elbians, and was a member of the Berlin Secession. He continued to create and teach actively until his death.
